RI Community Food Bank Virtual Town Hall

On Friday, May 29th at noon, RI residents are invited to attend a virtual Town Hall at the RI Community Food Bank.

Andrew Schiff, the CEO of the Food Bank will be on hand to give an overview and an update on how they have been serving the residents of Rhode Island during the COVID-19 outbreak. Then, CAPP Executive Director, Rilwan Feyisitan, Jr. will be speaking about the specific ways CAPP has stepped up to serve the needs of Providence residents experiencing food insecurity through our food pantry.

Participants will be invited to submit questions for Mr. Schiff and Mr. Feyisitan through the Zoom chat option.

FREE Whole Milk Giveaway at McCoy Stadium!

Dairy Farmers of America is giving away 4300 gallons of whole milk.

This free event is open to all residents!

Date: Wednesday, May 27th

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM, as supplies last

Location: McCoy Stadium

               1 Columbus Avenue Pawtucket, RI 

Each vehicle will receive up to two FREE gallons of whole milk

   Residents are welcome to go through the line more than once, as supplies last.

There will be a separate area for residents to walk up for milk - please be safe and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Any leftover milk will be donated to the RI Community Food Bank.

Extension to LIHEAP season for NEW applicants

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the heating season, which would normally end on May 1, is being extended from May 2 through June 1.

Eligible NEW APPLICANTS to the program can apply for primary grants or a crisis grant during this extension period.

Households eligible for a third crisis grant will receive it.

We are experiencing a high volume of calls and we appreciate your patience. If you are unable to get through, please wait a few minutes and try again.

Our BES can fill out your application with you over the phone, you will still need to submit copies of the required documents. You have the option of mailing them to our office:

or you can drop them off in the secure grey mailbox outside our building.

The required documents are:

  • Paystubs or proof of income for all members 18 and over
    • Include an Adult with No Income Form if applicable
  • Most recent gas or deliverable fuel bill, along with your most recent electric bill
  • Proof of residency such as rental agreement or mortgage
  • Copies Social Security cards for everyone in your household
  • Photo identification for adults in your household who are 18 years or older
  • Birth certificates for all children who are under 18 years old born in USA

Please note that your application cannot be processed without all of these documents above.
